This Maple Pecan Crusted Salmon is so easy to make and perfect for a good dinner with a glass of wine. If you love salmon, this recipe is for you!
Salmon is great on its own, but when you add a crunchy pecan crust and a sweet-savoury sauce, you get a delicious dinner!
We use whole salmon, because we like the way it looks by itself! But you can also use salmon filets for this recipe.
This Maple Pecan Crusted Salmon is:
- Crunchy: roasted pecans.
- Sweet: maple syrup will caramelize the nuts.
- Perfect healthy dinner
- Easy to make
- Gluten-free
Easy to Make
Make a sauce (with maple syrup and mustard) to drizzle all over the fish. Then chop the pecans and spread them evenly into the fish with olive oil. Cook it in the oven.
So easy to make and so good!
Tips to Perfect this Recipe:
- Use good quality fish, this makes a big difference in the taste.
- Remove excess water from the salmon with a paper towel and if it’s frozen make sure to thaw it completely.
- Don’t overcook the salmon, we want it to be tender, not dry. Cooking may vary depending on the thickness of the fish. In my opinion, it’s better to have salmon that is undercooked vs. overcooked.
- Finely chop the pecans: You can do this with a food processor or with a rolling pin. Just place the nuts into a plastic bag (Ziploc) and press with the rolling pin a few times.
- Drizzle the sauce all over the salmon to make sure you’ll get the sauce in every bite.
Serve it With:
- Rice and some grilled veggies. Try my Delicata Squash recipe here.
- With a salad. It will go well with my sweet kale salad recipe.
