This Tahini and Fig Granola is chewy, crunchy and bursting with flavour! It’s also oil-free and gluten-free. A new twist on your homemade granola you need to try!
Homemade granola is so easy to make and healthier than the one you buy at the grocery store (that’s for sure). Here, we’re chopping it in the food processor to get textures in every bite.
What Are the Ingredients in our Tahini and Fig Granola?
- Rolled oats
- Dried figs: we’re adding the figs at the end when the granola is cooked. We want that chewy texture vs. a dry one. Please make sure you remove the fig tail.
- Hulled Tahini: made with sesame seeds that have had the outer shell (the kernel) removed.
- Maple Syrup: as a sweetener
- Vanilla extract
- Cinnamon: to give a spicy taste to our granola
- Pinch of salt: to balance the flavours
Using a Food Processor to Chop Up our Granola
You know it’s all about the texture. That’s why we’re using a food processor in this recipe.
First, we place half of our almonds, oats, tahini, vanilla and salt in the food processor to roughly chop them and combine all the ingredients.
We then add this mixture to a big bowl with the remaining almonds and maple syrup.
After our granola is cooked, we add the dried figs. We wait until the end when our granola is cooked to preserve that chewy texture. If you don’t have a food processor, you can easily do this recipe by combining all the ingredients in a big bowl. It’s even better when using one!
How to Store It
Make sure your granola has cooled down completely. Put it in an airtight container and keep it at room temperature. It will last up to a month.

Ingredients
3 cups of rolled oats
1 ½ cup of raw almonds
½ cup of tahini
1 tbsp. of vanilla extract
1 tbsp. of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
½ cup of maple syrup
1 cup of dried figs, tail removed and diced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a food processor, add rolled oats, ¾ cup of raw almonds, tahini, vanilla extract, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Pulse a few times to combine. Make sure you don’t over blend it. We want to chop out the granola, but we don’t want it to be too fine.
- In a big bowl, combine the food processor mixture with the remaining almonds and maple syrup. Mix well to combine.
- On a baking pan with parchment paper, spread the granola evenly.
- Cook for 30–35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so.
- Let it cool down completely and add dried figs. Stir well.
- Store it in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
