Basil & Peach Lemonade Recipe (Super Fresh!)

Peach Lemonade

This Basil & Peach Lemonade is:

How to Make Peach Lemonade?

  1. Prepare the peach juice. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add diced peaches, honey, water and fresh basil leaves. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the peaches are tender. With a potato masher, mash the peaches.
  2. Let it sit in the fridge for 1 hour to cool down completely and infuse the flavours.
  3. Drain with a strainer to keep only the liquid. Store peach pulp in the fridge or freezer and use it in a smoothie!
  4. Add the remaining ingredients to a pitcher: lemon juice, water and ice.
  5. Garnish with fresh peaches and basil leaves. 

How to Turn Lemonade into a Cocktail?

If you’re feeling more festive, adding liquor to this peach lemonade will turn it into a delicious cocktail! 

Liquor suggestions: Vodka, tequila or rum.

Frozen or Fresh Peaches?

This recipe calls for fresh peaches, but you can also use frozen. 

Can I Prepare the Peach Lemonade ahead of time? 

You can prepare the peach juice in advance so you’ll only have to add the remaining ingredients when ready to serve. You can also store the lemonade in the fridge for 1 day.

Ingredients

  • Peach juice
  • 2 ½ cups of diced peaches (4-5 peaches, skin on)

  • ⅓ cup of honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)

  • 2 cups of water

  • 10 basil leaves

  • Lemonade
  • ½ cup of fresh lemon juice (approx. 3 lemons)

  • Water

  • Ice

  • Fresh basil leaves and sliced peaches

Instructions

  • Prepare the peach juice. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add diced peaches, honey, water and fresh basil leaves. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the peaches are tender. With a potato masher, mash the peaches.
  • Let the mixture sit in the fridge for 1 hour to cool down completely and infuse the flavours.
  • Drain with a strainer and keep only the liquid from the mixture to create a juice.
  • Add the remaining ingredients: lemon juice, water, ice, basil leaves and sliced peaches. Mix well with a wooden spoon. Add more honey or some sugar if you prefer a sweeter lemonade.
  • Serve in small glasses and enjoy!

Notes
