Vegan Mocha Chocolate Mousse (Using a Blender)

This vegan mocha chocolate mousse is rich, creamy and fluffy. Coffee lover? Chocolate lover? This recipe is for you! It features rich chocolate flavour with a smooth hint of coffee.

Vegan Mocha Chocolate Mousse

Made in a blender, it’s probably the easiest way to make chocolate mousse and it will take you less than 10 minutes to prepare! Additionally, it’s vegan (lactose free), gluten-free and refined sugar free.

Healthy Vegan Mocha Chocolate Mousse

Few ingredients make the most decadent dessert:

  • Chocolate: use dark quality chocolate. You can either choose baking chocolate bar or chocolate chips.
  • Silken Tofu: it’s the base of the mousse and it gives it a creamy texture. We use plain silken tofu (no added flavor). Don’t choose extra firm tofu for this recipe, you won’t obtain the same texture.
  • Instant Coffee: also called soluble coffee, coffee crystals, and coffee powder. You can choose to make the mousse without it for a more classic chocolate mousse.
  • Vanilla extract: we want that vanilla taste.
  • Maple syrup: the sweetener in our recipe.

Dessert to Make in a Blender

I simply love how easy this recipe is! You will need a blender or a food processor to mix all ingredients together.

Blend it:

First, we blend silken tofu, vanilla extract and maple syrup. We microwave the chocolate in a small bowl. We then add melted chocolate and instant coffee to the blender. Combine until you get a creamy texture. That’s it! I told you it was easy 😉

Refrigerate:

Divide into little jars and put in the fridge for at least 2 hours to set. You can also leave it overnight. If you have any leftover, cover each jar or transfer the mousse into an airtight container. These chocolate mousses will last up to 5 days in the fridge.

Toppings

You can serve this mousse on its own or add some toppings for extra deliciousness.

Here are some ideas:

  • Whipped coconut cream or greek yogurt
  • Fresh fruits: raspberries, blueberries or strawberries
  • Cacao powder
  • Extra chocolate bites
  • Coconut flakes

Tips to Perfect This Recipe

  • Use quality chocolate for best results. Seeing as the main ingredient is chocolate it will make a huge difference tastewise.
  • Make sure the ingredients are well combined when you blend them together. Use a spatula to scrape the edges.
  • Refrigerate to set. I recommend to place it in the fridge for 2 hours, you can leave it for less, but it might change the consistency.
